Medals

I liked last year’s medal. It was a good size, a lovely design, and had a couple of clever features. I’m not a fan of change for change’s sake, so I’m using the same basic design this year as well.

So as to mix things up a bit, though, I’m changing colours around a bit. Runners on Saturday, and Sunday’s Marathon will receive antique gold coloured medals this year, and the ribbons are all individually printed with the event and year, so if you collect two medals over the weekend, they’ll both be different.

Half Marathon runners will have shiny silver medals this year.

Maravan 2019 – It’s ON!

We have received confirmation from the park that we are welcome back to use their site for Maravan 2019!

Although I was hoping to move forward another day, there was always going to be a day when I had to move the event back, and that time has come, as the caravan owners’ end of season party is a few days later next year. Hopefully we’ll still be OK for weather, but we’ve had everything that the North Sea can throw us over the years.

Maravan 2019 will be on the 23 and 24 November, 2019.

I’ll open up entries some time between now and Christmas, and let you know via the website and Social Media.

Hurry for relay places

My eyes!

I spend a week in the Netherlands with my family, and I come back to all the news!

Apparently, my man at Event Entry tells me that I have only three team places remaining for the Maravan Relay on Saturday 17th November.

If you haven’t entered yet, then you might need to get a move on. I might be able to free up a few more medals, but that depends if other events don’t fill up. There are already 33 entries in the Marathon on Saturday https://www.evententry.co.uk/saturday-maravan-2018, and 21 on the Sunday https://www.evententry.co.uk/sunday-maravan-2018, so I’m not planning on having spaces in those come November.

Don’t forget there’s a half on as well on the Sunday https://www.evententry.co.uk/maravan-half-2018, that’ll start filling soon, as well…

Don’t delay too long…

Maravan 2018 will be run under an Association of Running Clubs permit

Permit number 18/264

This means that the marathon events on Saturday and Sunday meet the criteria laid down by the UK 100 Marathon Club to count towards a member’s totals.

Several runners have now used Maravan events towards their 100 club membership, including Rebecca Parry, who last year became the first athlete to celebrate her 100th at the Maravan.

Will anyone be joining her this year?
